Stephens is a regular attendee of  Citi Taste of Tennis and loves the food-tennis atmosphere . “It’s a fun way to kick off the [US Open]. Gives me a chance to relax and have some fun off the court before things get serious with tennis.” She is a self-proclaimed “foodie” and is looking forward to experiencing all of the best chefs and restaurants at the event.

After winning the US Open in 2017, Stephens has more tasks on her plate. She enjoys being a role model and empowering young women. “It’s pretty special to show young girls to always try your best and never give up on your dreams.” Stephens recalls that not too long ago, she was the young girl looking up to athletes for inspiration. “Never give up!”

Stephens admires that Citi Taste of Tennis is run by mother-daughter duo Judi and Penny Lerner. She and her mother work together on her Foundation, the Sloane Stephens Foundation. “We are both committed to growing the Foundation and providing new opportunities for kids. Penny and Judi are close friends and I admire how they have been able to team up to consistently put together great events.” Stephens hopes to achieve the same success as Judi and Penny with her mother and her Foundation.
