Citi Taste of Tennis served up two events on both coasts!

BNP Paribas Open
Celebrity chefs and acclaimed pro tennis stars converged at this year’s event in Indian Wells, California.

The event, hosted at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa, coincided with the BNP Paribas Open – The 5th-largest tennis tournament in the world.

A team of chefs featuring, Jose Garces, Engin Onural and Richard Blais, delivered on unique small plates enjoyed by celebs and players alike.

“Citi Taste of Tennis is a place, pre-tournament, where the tennis world gets together to mingle as friends despite going out the next day or two as mortal enemies on the court,” explained Actor Omar Benson Miller.

Culinary crowd favorites included succulent lobster rolls with mustard seed caviar by Chef Blais and spicy tuna tostadas by Chef Onural.

“I love food, I love tennis – So what could be better than clashing them together?” said Victoria Azarenka, Olympic medalist and singles champion.

Miami Open
In Miami, Citi Taste of Tennis kicked-off at W Miami Hotel with a chef’s toast of Oban Single Malt Scotch Whisky, commemorating the start of the Miami Open.

The atmosphere, chic yet playful, offered celebs, chefs and guests the opportunity to connect and indulge around the rooftop pool and lounge.

“Part of it is always outside because Miami has the best weather. All the players like to come out; it’s amazing food, music, mingling – It’s a lot of fun,” said Genie Bouchard, singles player and Grand Slam finalist.

The night’s best bites featured chargrilled vegetable spring rolls, smoked lamb, and grilled shrimp tacos. Brothers and tennis players Sascha and Mischa Zverev generously offered to sample the dishes and even tried their hand in creating a few themselves.

The season is just heating up! Join Citi Taste of Tennis in Washington D.C. on July 30 and in New York City on August 23.
