The foodie train moves onto Miami, and it’s only fitting that headlining the festivities is the iconic, James Beard award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein. A Miami native, Chef Bernstein is a standard-bearer of the city’s vibrant culinary landscape, and revered for her seemingly simplistic yet flavorful style. “You don’t need heavy handed technique and over the top presentations to make a dish work. It’s about amazing ingredients, layered flavors and simplicity. My style of cooking is inspired by my own food memories and it’s the simple, soulful cooking that I remember from my travels. I cook the food I love.”

Chef Bernstein, who is of Jewish and Latin descent, credits her family’s diverse cultural roots as a main source of inspiration. “My mother taught me everything. I can still remember the smells that would wake me up with hunger in the morning and the vibrant colors and flavors waiting for us on the table at dinner time.”

Currently, Chef Bernstein owns and operates MBC Michelle Bernstein Catering, a full-service catering company, and her passion project Crumb On Parchment. This popular cafe concept serves breakfast and lunch offering great sandwiches, salads, healthy bowls, and other delicious specials. And let’s not forget those chocolates chip cookies.

Beyond her restaurants, Bernstein dedicates time to Common Threads, an after-school program for underprivileged kids, and regularly appears on an array of national TV shows, from Top Chef to Good Morning America.
