Roddick and Hoffmann, the host of “Simply Delicioso,” made several dishes, while other acclaimed chefs, including John DeLucie of The Waverly Inn and Gotham Bar and Grill’s Alfred Portale, made dishes as well. Roddick was joined by fellow American tennis star James Blake and other U.S. Open players for the event, which benefited for Food Bank for New York City. Rangers star Scott Gomez and Henrik Lundqvist were among the other luminaries in attendance. After going through a shoulder injury that forced him to miss the French Open and hampered his reparation for Wimbledon, Roddick said he is hoping he can make it deep into this year’s Open, which he won in 2003. “This week I feel healthy and can prepare and practice, which hasn’t been that way for a while,” Roddick told The Post’s Tim Bontemps. “I’ve been having to try and just jump into tournaments, which is tough.” Blake, meanwhile, was prepping for the Open after finishing fourth in singles play in the Olympics last week. Blake was in the middle of controversy after his opponent in the semifinals, Chile’s Fernando Gonzales, claimed a ball didn’t hit his racket in the late third-set tiebreaker when replays showed it clearly did. Gonzalez went on to win the match, and claim the silver medal. “It was tough, but the experience overall was great. To be over Olympians was really exciting for me.”
